Baking Pot is one of the largest prehistoric Maya sites and is associated with extensive amounts of research into Maya settlements. Thus, it is home to many archeologists who continue to study architecture from thousands of years ago. In fact, this village received its name after large pots were found by archaeologists. Most citizens in the region are farmed due to the fertile soil which produces cocoa beans.
