SANTA ELENA

Santa Elena is the sister-town to San Ignacio, and are referred to as the "Twin Towns". Together, they make up Belize's second largest urban area. The two towns are connected by the only suspension bridge in Belize. Santa Elena is home to nearly 7,500 people and is very diverse with Mestizo, Kriol, Lebanese, Mopan, and Chinese populations represented. The region includes three colleges, various clinics, and is home to some of the most popular tourist attractions.
