VALLEY OF PEACE

Valley of Peace has a population of 2,500 and is growing! It is described as the "Food Basket" of Belize. Most of the vegetables sold at local markets are from the Valley of Peace. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, this region of Belize received an influx of refugees from Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. Additionally, Valley of Peace was one of the first places to receive electricity and a water system.
